Wedding Breakfast – Does It Have To Be A Sit-Down Meal?

Much to people’s belief, the wedding breakfast is not actually breakfast. The name comes from it being the first meal the couple has as a newly married husband and wife. Typically, this will be a sit-down meal with all of the wedding guests where speeches are shared, as well as the cake-cutting ceremony. But the main question is, does it really need to be a sit-down meal?

The truth is, no. Whilst most commonly it is and many wedding venues offer this service and some even require you to have it to use their venue. It is not always ideal for every couple. There are alternative options you can use that will help to keep the cost down. You may decide to just do small canapes for people to enjoy whilst speeches are being shared. You may decide to skip this altogether and have your typical wedding breakfast as your evening meal where you can do alternatives like a buffet, hog roast, or food vans. This does all depend on the venue you have booked for your wedding and if they allow these external vendors to come onto their land.
